That was helpful in getting pointed the right direction. Although I didn't see it clearly noted anywhere when you build FLAC it builds the XMMS plugin if it can find XMMS. Oddly enough when I specified "./configure --enable-local-xmms-plugin" as noted in the configure options it never copies anything to "~/.xmms/Plugins". I'll keep poking. Fairly certain my XMMS install isn't exactly 100% as I did a 'make install' even though there were some errors. I just wanted XMMS to run dag nab it.
