I'm battling to finish a lengthy report with a deadline in WordPerfect on a WinXP partition on a borrowed laptop (my own system is down). But I'm having big problems with a cursor that jumps all over the place every few characters, in both WordPefect and in Firefox when editing web forms. I can buy a few hours of sanity by removing and replacing the keyboard software driver, but it keeps coming back so I'm suspecting corruption elsewhere that impacts the driver. Any thoughts? The system is an HP Pavilion dv8309us, running XP Pro rather than the Win Media Center it originally came with. XP is fully patched. I ran several diagnostics, malware detectors, cleaned out the registry, etc.
