It can be made to work. I just watched a trailer at apple.com and it
just worked.
Don't plan on being able to watch stuff you bought from iTunes under
linux though.

MPlayer can handle most Quicktime streams and storage formats.

If you are still running SUSE you should be able to use the package
manager to install mplayer
