You may have blown a capacitor.  Open up the machine and see. It would be
fairly obvious. I can't see how this could be caused by ubuntu. Must likely
a coincident. If it was on the radio, at least it's easy to replace. I might
have a spare wireless radio around here somewhere. Odds are it was on the
main board though. Sorry.
