I suspect specific typeset and formatting requirements of standardized shared legal WordPerfect templates would be a good reason for legal eagles not desiring to migrate to open-source word processor. If it's not broken, that is, if it's not directly compatible with those whom you share documents, then why change. Just run it in VM. I on occasion still use WP 5.1 for editing old docs, but someone else does the converting/printing, thank goodness. ;-)
