It's the standard Ubuntu 9.04 Gnome desktop...I futzed around with
checking font and background to be sure it was black on white...that's
not it.

Nice thing about my new job is that I got Thursdays off now and I could
drive this stuff over to the Meetings.  It would be interesting to see
some experts work this problem.  I think this Ubuntu nVidia
implementation is buggy, that's all.

I note the nVidia download works well under Fedora...or I should say, as
far as I got.
