It's no worse than using other providers like Comcast, Qwest etc. Any ISP can profile your traffic or redirect traffic to their services ( NXDOMAIN DNS tricks or ad servers.) to make more money. Google does a really good job of innovating services already existing in the market-space. They also do a good job of bringing new innovating products to the market-space as well. This is how the capitalism and the free market work.
Unfortunately Google may have a uphill battle with the telcos and cable providers. I will be shocked if they don't make a big stink about Google moving into the network provider space. Some of the tier one / backbone providers might also complain as well. I only hope this will force other network providers to provide faster network services in the United States. -Miller On Thu, Feb 11, 2010 at 12:16 AM, <[email protected]> wrote: > > Given Google's liberal attitude towards "other people's information", > wouldn't connecting to their high-speed network be tantamount to hooking a > main-line between Google and your desktop?
