Further to this, I've put an order in for 3 x 8GB SD cards, which should /theoretically/ arrive tomorrow. (I've ordered from these people: http://www.gomemory.co.uk/ Any SD card which is over a 2 GB is generally going to be SDHC, because the SD standard _officially_ only goes up to 2GB. (though you can get 4GB cards as well - I'm guessing there's a 32bit number there, and a possible question over signed or unsigned) Anyway, as well as allowing higher capacity (SDHC goes up to 32GB AFAICT), they come in different classes which relate to the speed you can write and in crucially in this case read data from the card. For reference, the speeds are: * Class 2: 16 Mbit/s (2 MB/s) * Class 4: 32 Mbit/s (4 MB/s) * Class 6: 48 Mbit/s (6 MB/s) * Class 10: 80 Mbit/s (10 MB/s) So you might think "just use class 10". Having looked around it transpires that some SDHC aware devices don't detect class 10 cards correctly and fail back, effectively to the original SD bit rate of around 1MB/s. (Which for 4Gb equates to around an hour) This is what led to me saying 3x8GB SD cards was the best option since it allows each camera to have 2x 3GB or 4GB sessions and to have batteries recharged over lunchtime, but only empty the cards at the end of the day. (And at a reasonable rate!) > http://wiki.europython.eu/VolunteersByActivity#Talk_audio_recording Cool! I ought to put up a grid for video recording as well.
