Looking back through my mail, you did, but you'd written the part about the
cards in a quoted part...

As a result I /completely/ missed that. (the SD cards I bought aren't a waste
though, they're always useful)

I've been worrying about that and playing with SD cards, and how to figure
out how to deal with the power supply issue. Personally I think the suggested
approach isn't a bad one, and manageable. (But then I would say that since
I posted it, I wouldn't've posted something I thought was bad :-)

That's useful. Looking back, I see you've got class 4 which has a slower
transfer rate. However, the upside is they're bigger, which is helpful.
(Bigger is definitely better in this case)

In particular, even if we go with the plan I've suggested, having 6 16GB cards
means they can all be emptied after the conference, and just need to charge
batteries at lunch time, and that's eminently helpful. If we do get a
power solution,
then the cameras can be managed by less people, and cards emptied daily.

Either way it's great :-)

That's great. Richard Barran has offered to bring his. If we can get to
one per camera, that's really helpful, but not vital at this point.

If we do, we can definitely do better, and the 16GB cards will help there.
If you can't get it hacked in time, I've got a workable solution.

Basically, my aim this year is to record more of the conference. If that's
achieved, that's a good step - so I'm aiming for practicality, not perfection.

I think if I was going to do this again though, I'd seriously consider using
either web cams or HD web cams and recording direct to disk - it strikes
me as a more scalable solution - even if video quality was slightly lower.

This is great as it is - much appreciated.
