Hi All, Thanks Rolf and John for your feedback. I share your positive opinions about the Berlin edition outcome and the disappointment for not repeating it in Berlin in 2015.
As John mentioned, 2014 was very stressful for both the local organisers and the EPS. Things didn't run well and smoothly as expected and I think that we can say almost everyone is/was disappointed. IMHO the best thing we can do as an open community run by volunteers is to learn from mistakes, have a positive attitude, fix our bugs and work to make a successful future. Sharing a quote that I've heard recently: "Successful community engagement starts (and ends) with humility. I've heard it said that 'pride is concerned with who is right, while humility is concerned with what is right". Although I'd have loved to have 2015 event in Berlin again and have tried to make it happen, it was just not possible. I prefer spending my volunteering time on what I think is right (try to make sure that EuroPython can have a successful future and a 2015 edition as well). Hopefully we will see another great EuroPython edition in Berlin again in the future to come.
