Hey, that might be a good argument for 50% weight in batteries!

Joking aside, I might wind up close to 40+% weight in new parts. The
car is about 2500 lbs, motor is about 400 lbs, and then I think I can
get about 200 lbs of oil cooler, air co, etc. out. Maybe another 200
by fiberglass body parts, racing seats, and plastic windows. Stripped
weight about 1700 lbs, GVWR about 3200, rats looks like it'll be
tough to be 50+% by weight in new parts and stay under GVWR.

I think I'll try contacting the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles and
ask what it means to be a "new" car (like a kit car).
