well?

Might be a good idea to examine the brushes and
rigging.  Although its
hard to see how a malfunctioning rigging could heat up
the whole motor
case, which has a very high heat capacity and heat
transfer coefficient.
If the brushes got that hot, the commutator is
probably toast, which
will necessitate a rebuild.  I think that Bob has had
good luck with
a place which he will be able to recommend to you.
