This gave me an idea. Perhaps you've seen a "clown magician" act, where
the magician is a bungling idiot, and every trick is revealed to the
audience as a fake. So, wouldn't it be fun to have a "clown inventor"
act? He demonstrates some impossible invention, only to have his
assistant reveal that it's a fake.

Laughing at these guys might be the best form of medicine for curing
society of its gullibility.
