Chris, My EV friend Chip agrees with me - we think it's an 9" ADC with a DCP Controller and DCP DC/DC Converter, according to conversion pictures on their website. Typical conversion. The best range they should get, if only powered by teh 12 12v batteries might be 40 miles, and not at 60 mph.
So probably they have something like a fuel cell to actually power the vehicle, and the batteries are only a buffer, which is why they could claim that batteries aren't drained at the end. Which means (as to be expected) that there's another fuel/power source on board to power the electric motor. The batteries aren't the fuel source, but something else is. And it's spin to have people focus on the batteries and not the real power source. BTW - the fuel cell Santa Fe (SUV) has a battery pack to buffer between the fuel cell delivery and the electric motor demands. Nothing new there. -Ed -----Original Message----- From: Christopher Robison [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, August 21, 2002 10:21 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Electric DeLorean Test Date - response I have a few points to make about this, which anyone else who's wasting brain cycles on this topic is probably already thinking... (snip) Second, can anyone tell from the pictures what type/size/etc of motor they're putting in the car by its appearance? Totally ignoring the issue of how he's keeping the batteries charged, can anyone see anything wrong with his claimed performance figures, based on voltage and the motor? I'm not so good on the math here. (end snip) --Chris
