I believe the relatively-long-established? BMW program of converting a dozen or
two? 740 iL's to burn liquid hydrogen uses liquification as their method of
Hydrogen storage.  Just FYI.  Most if not all of the fuel cell H2 cars I've
heard about seem to use some method of pressure storage.
