This is what I gleaned from visiting the Tilley website and the test
reporter's comments:

The car has a 144 volt pack of Trojan deep cycle marine batteries. The car
started with a full charge and was driven about 13 miles at freeway speeds
around the track. After a five minute rest, the batteries recovered to 140.4
volts. That's 1.95 volts/cell. The remaining SOC was probably about 30% at
best. If I extrapolate, then the car could have gone another 6 or 7 miles at
most. It was unclear from the reports how soon the car resumed the test. It
was reported that the car did 3 or 4 more miles (laps) before experiencing a
mechanical breakdown. I suspect that that batteries were merely running out.
The interesting thing about the test is that the car traveled about as far
as could be expected without using any kind of "magic".
