I ment what I said.  I have to charge at higher voltages now and 
equalize more often.  This means that I have to put more energy INTO the 
pack for the same energy OUT of the pack.  The batteries also sag more, 
which means I have to draw more amp hours for the exact same trip.

It's a fact of life, as PbA batteries age they become less efficient at 
energy storage.
