David,
I used a 10k ohm resistor between battery negative and positive and 
chasiss to check for leakage.  You should have less than 1mAmp of 
current flowing between the battery and frame.  You can also calculate
this with a voltage measurement across the resistor.  If you have more
than 10Vdc it indicates a leakage problem.
