If batteries in parallel are at different temperatures, the hotter one hogs the current. The effect is quite drastic; it only takes a small temperature difference to lead to large current differences. > Most of the time I'm happy to avoid the equalizing phase. Given the low reliability of the charger and the serious consequences when it doesn't turn off, I would recommend adding an independent timer that will cut its power after X hours, no matter what. This can be as simple as a mechanical timer of the type used for a bathroom fan, etc. -- Lee A. Hart Ring the bells that still can ring 814 8th Ave. N.
