This mantra is essentially devoid of information. How
about all those
expensive Nicads that are not warranted against
"memory" effect, that
ends up eating expensive holes in camcorder owners'
pockets?

It will ruffle less feathers to call it "ED" effect
(early death). I
had a rechargeable flashlight that I personally
witness "ED" effect
on. Whenever someone said "m****y" effect, it would
bring all the
opinionated Internet geeks out of the woodwork to
correct them. It
didn't fix my battery. Repeated zaps with a large
capacitor burned
a hole in the top, but fixed it temporarily. Dendrite
perforated
separator. Too hard for the geeks. Just call it "ED"
to placate
them.

The main criteria are temperature and overcharge
control, which address
the "ED" effect.
