I'm not really sure on isolation, that is a test that isn't also
compromising it. Its not a choice I use, though I guess I should have a
good method since my Pickup uses a Lester (but no public charging - no
onboard charger).

GFI is tested regularly with the provided test button, but once a year with
a resistor hooked between pack + and the frame (garage test). I use some
resistor, I think its a 15k ohm one, that I have that happens to have wires
with alligator clips on it already.

Frame ground (and cord ground) is tested regularly with my Fluke set to
ohms. Honestly, my little Russco should be safe up to about 1 ohm, but I
wouldn't allow more than a tenth that without tossing the cord or redoing
the frame ground (depending on where I found it).

Automated testing is a great idea. I'll leave that up to the silicon gurus.
In fact, there should be a little box that gets hooked up to test this
stuff in a simple fashion.
