I agree with Mark. Your terminals and caps are too close to your metal
battery box frame. Leakage current is flowing from the battery terminals
and caps to the frame, causing the corrosion.

You can try painting or coating the metal frame with something, but I've
found that to be difficult. The acid manages to attack or find pinholes
in almost any coating.

If nothing else, you can put the battery in a plastic bag, then put it
in the rack. Be very careful not to make any holes in the bag.
Obviously, make sure you leave the top of the bag open for venting.
