Whistler Investments, Inc (WHIS) acquires worldwide development,
manufacturing and marketing rights for Lithium Portable Power Packs

LAS VEGAS, March 22 /PRNewswire/ - Whistler Investments, Inc.,
www.globalelectric.com - an emerging leader in the
development and marketing of Lithium Ion vehicles and Lithium Ion
powered products worldwide, is proud to announce that they have
entered into an agreement with RV Systems, Inc., affiliated with
Lithium House, a developer of advanced lithium battery technology.
Under the agreement, Whistler acquired the worldwide development,
manufacturing and marketing rights for Lithium Portable Power Packs.

A typical lithium power pack will add an additional 8 to 12 hours of
use time to lap top computers and can be used for a variety of
electronic consumer products such as digital cameras, mobile phones,
Bluetooth headsets, portable DVD players and high-end toys, as well
as
any other portable devices currently in widespread use. With these
power packs, it also provides the consumer the capability to charge
cell phones through USB ports while using their computers in any
wireless setting. As demand for portability increases, Global
Electric's development of the Lithium Portable Power Pack will fill
the need of today's consumer to have access to maximum duration of
use
from all their portable electronic products.

According to a soon-to-be-released updated report from Business
Communications Company, Inc.(www.bccresearch.com) RGB-184N, Portable
Battery Powered Products: U.S. Markets and Opportunities, over $50
billion worth of portable products were sold in the U.S. in 2002,
nearly twice as much as was sold in 1995. This market is estimated to
reach nearly $58 billion by 2007, growing at an average annual growth
rate (AAGR) of 2.8%. Units shipped will grow from over 978 million
units in 2002 to over 1 billion units in 2007. The products include
high-volume, low-price items like flashlights, wristwatches, and
calculators, as well as relatively low-volume items like implantable
medical products, cordless lawnmowers, and cordless analytical
equipment. The lithium storage battery market exceeded the 4.5
billion
Euro mark in 2000, (CEA), and the US demand for primary and secondary
batteries is forecast to climb 5.5% annually through 2007 to $14
billion. Secondary battery demand is expected to outpace primary
battery market

Holly Roseberry, President of Whistler states "As the need for
portability increases, along with the increased access to wireless
technology venues such as Starbucks, McDonalds, hotel chains,
airports, etc, the demand for affordably priced portable power is
growing rapidly. Whistler plans to immediately and aggressively
market
these products via direct marketing infomercials, distribution
networks worldwide, and on our website. This will rapidly generate
significant revenues to the company.

About Whistler Investments, Inc. (Global Electric)
Whistler Investments Inc. - an emerging leader in the
development and marketing of Lithium Ion vehicles and Lithium Ion
powered products worldwide. We at Global Electric believe our
superior
technology, coupled with an aggressive marketing plan, will establish
our company on the world stage. With the global focus moving rapidly
towards addressing pollution, the need for sustainable, zero emission
energy is current. As current legislation is dictating a move towards
this type of energy, we foresee this industry as one of the fastest
growing segments within the global economy. For more information,

first, go to a few body shops for quotes, if that doesn't pan out get a same model temporarly to make transfering parts easy, then see a lawyer, it may take years, by then you'll be able to buy lithium ion .:-;

good luck, and I agree with bob rice, these body shops work minor miracles.

Go-Ped(R) Recycles Foreign Scooters to Clean Up America
RENO, Nev., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Patmont Motor Werks, Inc., the
manufacturer of the world renowned, American made, Go-Ped(R) line of
scooter products, has developed a way of removing inferior and high
emission foreign made scooters from roads and streets, and at the
same
time, help to preserve American jobs.

By taking part in the "Clean and Safe Scooter Recycling Program" any
individual can exchange their non Go-Ped(R) electric, push or
gasoline
scooter for the highest quality, most reliable and environmentally
friendly American Made Product, a Genuine Go-Ped(R) brand scooter.
Individuals participating in this program will receive a 20% discount
on the retail price of any Patmont Motor Werks, Inc. product.

Patmont is motivated by the proliferation of unsafe, highly polluting
and very poor quality scooters recently sold in the USA. Most of them
are made overseas, using poor quality materials, poor or non-existent
quality control and highly polluting engines. Their sale and usage
have wrought substantial damage upon the environment. Also, many now
collect dust in the garage of their purchasers, since they broke only
after a few hours of use, and repair, warranty, service, or parts
were
and are not available domestically.

All scooters returned under the program will be disassembled and
their
parts will be recycled to keep the environment healthy and safe.
Scooter users are also being educated on recycling and its benefits
through the company's website and flyers circulated in schools and
local communities.

Valence U-Charge/TM/ Power System to Be Evaluated by Graham-Field;
Saphion/R/ Technology Tested as Power Source for Wheelchairs

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--03/24/2004--Valence Technology, Inc.
a leader in the development and commercialization of
Saphion(R) technology, the only safe large format Lithium-ion
rechargeable battery technology, today announced that the
U-Charge(TM)
Power System will be evaluated by Graham-Field Healthcare Products, a
major manufacturer and distributor of healthcare products.

The Saphion-based U-Charge(TM) Power System will be assessed for use
in power wheelchair products.

The power mobility market is one of the fastest growing markets in
the
medical equipment sector. The U-Charge Power System is a direct
replacement for the sealed Lead Acid battery systems currently
available in the power mobility market. The U-Charge Power System
delivers greater energy density and better reliability at a lower
cost
of ownership than Lead Acid batteries. The inherent safety of Saphion
Lithium-ion technology enables the creation of a large format
product,
such as the U-Charge system, and eliminates safety and environmental
concerns associated with other technologies.

"We expect Saphion technology will have a significant impact on the
mobility market for healthcare, which utilizes sealed Lead Acid
batteries in a wide variety of applications," stated Stephan
Godevais,
chairman and CEO of Valence. "We believe the U-Charge Power System
will enable Graham-Field to provide its wheelchair customers with
power to be completely mobile for an entire day and in the end,
facilitate a better quality of life."

"We have been waiting a long time for a Lithium-ion technology that
was safe enough to be manufactured in unique dimensions for our
industry," Joe Ticer, Director of Mobility and Rehab of Graham-Field.
"Saphion technology and the U-Charge product have the potential to be
a true breakthrough for the mobility market and could impact all
aspects of design and function for powered wheelchairs."

About Valence Technology, Inc.
Valence is a leader in the development and commercialization of
Saphion(R) technology, the only safe large format Lithium-ion
rechargeable battery technology. Valence holds an extensive,

I would say there is. "Digital" just implies having only two states;
like digital AM (on/off keying, like Morse code), digital FM (FSK or
Frequency Shift Keying; the old 300 baud modem), digital PM (phase
modulation, used in some disk drives), etc.

Any parameter of the signal that can be changed can be used as a form of
modulation. You can either change it in a continuous, analog fashion, or
in discrete steps (2 or more).

ell, that weird Army

Phase modulation is when you have the same frequency and amplitude, but
change the phase of the signal. The color for broadcast NTSC TV is phase
modulated (and the picture is AM and the sound is FM; that's how they
got 3 channels of information).

Satellites use polarization; they use vertically and horizontally
polarized antennas (think of vertically and horizontally polarized
light) to carry two independent channels at the same frequency and with
the same modulation.

There is such a thing as circularly polarized RF, too. If you are trying
to receive data from a tumbling satellite, you need circularly polarized
antenna so the signal won't fade in and out as it spins.

Nimh (nickel-metal hydride) *is* a nickel-hydrogen battery. The two
working "plates" are nickel and hydrogen. Since hydrogen is a gas, it is
actually adsorbed into a metal mesh which provides the electrical
connection (the metal hydride).

Texaco Ovonics offered to sell me the newer model replacement units (at a loss they said) for only $1000.00 each. Can you believe that! I had Solectria change it over to Pba and the car is as reliable as sunrise now. Of course the change required different battery boxes.

One note of caution on these batteries. Don't make the mistake of designing an EV around them! Unless you plan to buy enough to last you the life of the vehicle, and somehow store them until you need them (not easy with lead batteries), most likely you won't be using batteries like these forever. Ask anyone here who designed battery boxes for the surplus Delphi 8-volt batteries what happened when it came time for replacement.

Also, are the NiMH batteries Panasonic or Ovonics? Based on what I've heard and read, if they're Ovonics brand, a "10 year" life for them is probably rather optimistic. Again, ask the NiMH Solectria Force owners who have experienced failures of Ovonics modules no longer made, and faced down the staggering cost of having to replace the entire pack.

We all know that AGMs don't last too long with a Zivan.

Why might speed be limited to 60mph?
I'd think that 144v from AGM on a Raptor 1200 would
easily go faster (it has the original 5sp. manual tranny)

He quotes 20-30 mi range.
Perhaps they are small optimas. One might think
it could do 40-50 with a full load of lead.
How light would a 325 chassis be? He lists
weight as 2800 lbs currently.

       Hi Don an All;

Yup! I can believe it. Texaco doesn't want YOU or anybody else having
these batteries!THAT'S why they bought the rights from Ovonic, they musta
felt that they, the batteries were promising, sooo.. But we knew that,
Solectria's Sunrise going from Bos-to NYC on one charge, I think they ran it
about 300 miles on that one? Remember? Now the Sunrise lies buried in
Solectrias' Corperate attic, forgotten, but we on here didn't forget it. Hey
Tom Hanks, Theres one to get in production! Seems like I remember Jerry
Dicus getting involved a bit with the Sunrise project a few years ago? Or am
I reading whisttful thinking into the thing?

That's why I felt that it was a sad, dark day when Texaco bought out the
Ovonic battery rights, the beginning of the end of a promising technology.
Look how nicely the EV-1's and Honda Whatevers did with them, and they were
relatively indifferant to cold weather, too. Dashed were my dreams of the
Big East swarming with efficient, roadworthy, production EV's, or at least
little 'ole CA, too with a "Boost" from CARB.

Wondering where the MINH batteries from the murdered EV-1's went, can
they be bought, salvaged, used? Now THAT would be worth persuing? Buddy

That's for sure! But batteries change shape just enough to make
designing Battery Boxes rather sporting, anyhow. Just the @#$%^ Posts, so
you hafta redesign the connecting leads and terminals EVery time you
re-cell! Or get good at casting your own posts. Tony Ascrizzi an' I got
pretty good at that on my last bunch of T 145's, bit tricky, but do-able
with a bit of patience. BTW a good battery shop can do this for you ,if yur
not that sporting.

Just read Bruce's post about the Turkish motorcycle thing and gas is
SEVEN bux a gal there, smile, it's coming here, to a gas station near you.
Bet there arent very many SUV's cluttering up THEIR roads? Trucks must use
cheaper Diseasel fuel? But you know if gas were that hi here a hellova lot
of handy folks would be junking their ICE stuff and joining the EV List V is
for Voltage, and a plethura of Yahoo groups, to get into EVing. Rich and
Otmar would be breaking ground on hugh factories, employing, hey? Maybe guyz
like us, to build the thousands of their goodies that the USA, hell, the
World, would demand? There is a waiting List for PFC-20's NOW<g>!

He sed that Tom Edison was close with his nickle cells but he didn;t have
the knowledge to absorb the gas hydrogen into the above mesh, that "
Hydride" thing. But he was close, sigh! Alotta OTHER stuff worked out for

        Hi Lawrence;

Sigh! Well if a NEV will do it for you, great! But it will be a
letdown, being in EVerybody's way in traffic and tepid performance. You
Cituicar masochists know what I mean. Was in NYC's Penn station last nite on
a layover, Cops all OVER the place, security, you know, RR's are on the Hit
List. A couple were petrolling in a GEM thing. I asked how the liked their
EV, they liked it fine, beats walking, but the drivin' guy said that all it
was was a golf cart, good enough indoors, like the station. They hads cute
"Limo" one too, streached , with a real back seat, same cute " Trunk"
'tached on back, too. Had all the police whistles and bells -lights
sirens. He sed that he wouldn't wanna drive it in NYC traffic, it gives ya a
bit better protection than a pedal bike, my preffered transportation in
NYC.At least you can take yur bike on the Subway, or LIRR to speed your
travels a bit or get out of the @#$% Rain!

OK got OT a bit as usual, but I would hang on to the Wreck, shop around,
car IS sort of drivable, sue the guy, collect enough to fix it, it looked
like a nice car, like the colour, too<g>!

    Good Luck!

Hybrids Close to Becoming Common Equipment, But Can Diesels Compete?
Questions ABI Research

OYSTER BAY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--03/15/2004--By 2006, Toyota and
Honda hybrid models alone could account for 10% of the over two
million midsize passenger vehicle sales in the US, according to ABI
Research, proving that hybrids are no longer a niche market. Reports
indicate Toyota will introduce a hybrid version of its Camry model to
the US in 2006, with a sales target of 100,000 vehicles. This follows
an announcement from Honda that a hybrid version of its Accord model
will go on sale in the US for 2005.

"This changes the game," says Dan Benjamin, ABI Analyst. "Honda and
Toyota are the market leaders, as the Accord and the Camry are the
dominant vehicles in the mid-sized segment. Other automakers will try
to keep pace with their own hybrids, but those without proper
development will either be forced to license hybrid technology or try
and market diesels as a competing technology."

Diesels will be used by manufacturers such as DaimlerChrysler and
Volkswagen in lieu of hybrids. However, existing diesel offerings in
the US market cannot match current hybrids in terms of performance,
economy, or cleanliness, and will have to be improved upon to remain
competitive. Diesels must also be equipped with expensive exhaust
treatment systems to comply with upcoming US Tier 2 emissions
standards.

Ford and Nissan will license hybrid technology from Toyota, while GM
will use their own. The act of licensing technology can have its
limitations, as the licensee may only have access to earlier versions
of the technology.

The market for diesel-powered light vehicles is the focus of ABI's
new
study, "Engine Management Systems: Emerging Markets for Advanced
Exhaust, Fuel, and Intake Technologies." The study also details the
market for exhaust treatment systems, such as Diesel Particulate
Filters, and engine technologies, including variable valve timing,
gasoline direct injection, and variable displacement.

ABI's hybrid vehicle study, "Hybrid Electric Vehicles: Global Market
Assessment, Key Technologies, and Forecasts." addresses major
components, hybrid markets, and player strategies with forecasts
through 2010.

Motorized Scooter Pioneer Files Federal Lawsuit Against Chinese
Government

RENO, Nevada, March 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Patmont Motor Werks, Inc., the
Nevada-based manufacturer of hand-crafted Go-Ped(R) brand scooters,
today filed a federal suit charging the Chinese Government and an
association of Chinese companies with Unfair Trade Practice and
Conspiracy to Restrain Trade Under the Anti Trust Laws.

The action seeks to correct fair international trade laws that
prevent
original American-made products from being sold in China. The lawsuit
illustrates a clear example of how American products like Go-Ped(R)
brand scooters are refused access into the same countries that export
massive volumes of unsafe imitation products into the United States
at
below cost and/or with foreign government subsidies.

Consumer products exported into the United States from China are
admitted under inferior labor laws and with zero customs duties. In
addition to addressing fair trade and intellectual property laws, the
suit filed by Patmont Motor Werks encompasses a national issue that
directly affects American jobs, small businesses and consumer
confidence in the purchasing of safe products.

"Chinese exporters can unload their products on the American market
with no duty or tax, but heavy duties and other taxes prevent
businesses like ours from selling our products to Chinese consumers,"
said Steven J. Patmont, president and CEO of Patmont Motor Werks.
"This suit does more than try to protect one company such as my
family's, as American consumers are at risk when unsafe low-quality
foreign manufactured products with terrible safety records are
allowed
free entry into this country."

Patmont Motor Werks is a family-owned business with more than 100
employees dedicated to handcrafting a full range of personal
transport
devices, including motorized, electric and self-powered scooters. The
Company has nearly 20 years of experience in developing and
distributing its personalized transport products in the United States
and overseas. The Company alleges that the Chinese Government has
imposed unfair import costs on its products, which have prevented the
company from fairly competing in the motorized scooter marketplace.

"American jobs, consumer confidence, and the very existence of the
American dream have little chance for survival if there is no
international fair trade," says Patmont. "After exhausting all other
resources to address and correct this problem, we are turning to the
federal court to make a determination about fair trade practices."

The suit also asks the federal court to protect the patents,
trademarks and copyrights of Patmont Motor Werks from copying by the
Chinese scooter association.
