I am NOT going to make this a gender thing, as I know counterexamples on both sides. But yes, I loved the fact that my ICE VW Rabbit had a gas gauge that was dead-on accurate: When it got down to E, the engine began to sputter and choke. SWMBO likes the "reserve" our Chrysler (ice) gives her - when it hits E, there's a gallon and a half left to get you to the next refuel. But we count on that too much, have cut it very close at times, and have been stranded more than once... I wouldn't mind it if it worked like the really early Beetles - the range meter would reach zero at, say, 20% SOC, and you would have to physically throw a switch or something to discharge it any further. I would locate the "extended discharge switch" under the hood... -- Best Regards, -- Cal Frye, Network Administrator, Oberlin College Mudd Library, x.56930 -- CIT will NEVER ask you for your password! www.calfrye.com, www.oberlin.edu/cit/ ' "Try something.
