The Honda Fit debuted a few years ago to great acclaim. This sporty little subcompact car is full of character and offers tons of utility and practicality all wrapped up into one fuel efficient package. Buy Honda has decided to take things to the next level with the introduction of the 2013 Honda Fit EV. This electric vehicle is one of the most efficient production cars with an MPGe range of 132 in the city and 105 on the highway. The Honda Fit EV also has a range of about 80 miles. The price on the 2013 Honda Fit EV is $36,625 but for now the Fit EV is only available as a lease. The Honda Fit is one of the favorite subcompact cars on the market here in the U.S. It looks great, drives well, and gets good fuel economy. Honda really nailed the mark with the Fit. With the announcement of the new 2013 Honda Fit EV, many people were excited to get their hands on this hot new electric car. This biggest thing about electric vehicles is range anxiety. The Fit EV is rated at 82 miles but the car will adjust the range based on your driving habits. The faster or harder you drive the more the range drops. Your Honda Fit EV will come equipped with a 120V charger which fit nicely into the integrated space in the cargo area. Opting for the 220V charger will drastically reduce the charging time by two-thirds to about 3 hours' time. The 2013 Honda Fit EV is very versatile. It is a 5-door hatchback with split second row seats so you can fold down one or both. It's a great design and makes a lot of sense for car buyers, especially those looking to purchase an electric vehicle. The Fit EV has a very simple design on the inside with an easy to use infotainment system. In sport mode the car makes 123 horsepower and 189 lb-ft. of torque which is a lot more than the regular gasoline powered model. The car is very consistent and quiet. The ride is smooth and there are no gears to change thanks to the transmission. One of the unique things about the Fit EV is that you cannot buy it. There is an MSRP yes, but Honda is only offering a 3 year lease for this car right now. ] Honda Motor Co. announced that it would soon offer its Fit EV electric vehicle in New Jersey, Maryland, New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Beginning last summer, the automaker placed the car in Oregon and California markets only. The Fit EV can travel 82 miles between charges, and is available for lease at $389 per month. The car is currently not offered for sale. A spokesperson for Honda pointed out that the East Coast rollout is part of a planned phase-in for the car, which at present is the company’s only all-electric vehicle. Honda Fit EV: Video The review video ... shows the Honda Fit EV in action, on the road. The driver honestly lists the features that he finds most convenient, and then tells us how it feels to drive the attractive electric Honda. Note that the car is still not available for outright sale in the U.S. market, but is only available as a lease. Honda wants to examine the cars and their driving data after the first round of users are through. That way, the Japanese automaker can tweak various systems and components, assess customer feedback, and develop a better product. The Fit EV is neither a sports car nor a luxury vehicle, but it looks stylish, delivers a solid ride, and handles well. Once Honda begins selling rather than leasing, the Fit EV is likely to be a big help to Honda’s bottom line. Honda, Ford Expand Markets Honda’s announcement comes on the heels of a similar move by Ford Motor Co. to expand its EV availability. Last week Ford announced that it would be pumping up its EV dealerships to the tune of 900 locations nationwide. At the end of 2012, Ford only had 200 or so dealerships that were certified to sell the Ford Focus EV ...
