Hi Steve and All,
 
                               One thing you could do is put a cap on the pot 
output might smooth out the starting a bit. Don't know what size though.  Try 
one size and work from there.  
 
                               And make sure if it's non linear it is connected 
correctly for that. You could buy a better pot as many like in the PB6 were not 
that good.
 
                               Another might be starting with a resistor, a 
piece of SS sheet sized appropriately, that once say a certain voltage, gets 
shorted out by a contactor.

Steve,

I think you are correct that logisystems is out of business.  I use a PB-6
with my logisystems unit without difficulty or modification, but I always
use my clutch to start off.

The few times that I've not used the clutch it is a bit jerky so if you've
gone clutchless I can understand the concern.
