The gearing would only be to avoid the special pot that has all its
action over a ahort angle in PB6 and instead be able to use a normal pot
that turns about 270 deg for its action - those are more common and
therefor lower in cost and probably you can choose from more suppliers
and qualities.

My own throttle has the weird effect (probably due to wear) that the
resistance first goes *up* when slightly depressed, before going down to
zero on full throttle. I will probably at some point replace it with a
standard TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) from a production car. I have
bought one for $10 that is new, I believe it was originally for a Honda
and the guy that I bought it from sold his car before installing the
TPS. The TPS has quite different mounting than my throttle pot, but I
will figure out a mechanical adaptor to position it in the same spot.
I do not have PB6 since this conversion is old enough that it precedes
PB6 but the idea is similar - an incoming trottle cable and a mechanism
to convert the linear motion into a (small) angle op action, so my
throttle has also one of the special kind of pots.

BTW, gearing can in theory be done with nothing more than a piece of
wire around the axle of the pot, a spring to turn the pot "off" and a
spring or other relief between the string and your throttle cable,
especially if you leave the original return springs of the throttle
cable in place.

If you want the throttle to have an easier life, you can place the pot
under the pedal in the cabin. If you angle the cable or string, you
might even get the increasing travel with increasing depression of the
pedal. But that is a whole new project...

Subject: [EVDL] Logisystems pot box

I am looking for a Logisystems (non linear) 5k pot box. I actually have
a
Zapi controller, but it has similar issues to the Logisystems where it
is
way too jerky on startup. I used to have a Logisystems pot when I used
their controller in a different car. I've looked, but it appears
Logisystems is gone (out of business?). Does anyone have one of these
pots
or can tell me how to achieve the same result modifying my existing
Curtis
PB-6? I believe their pot box is geared to achieve the effect.
