So, my old Electric Forklift has a weak battery.
Even after a full charge, the cells are reading a SG of 1.15.
Is there any way to restore some capacity to this? I really can't afford a new

Do a full equalization charge, then check the specific gravity. If it is low, the cells have lost acid. The acid could be lost from spillage, fizzing it out the vents from over-filling, or tied up in lead sulfate on the plates or in the sludge shed from the plates and now at the bottom of the cells.

In any case, it is OK to add acid to bring the specific gravity back up to normal. Just be *sure* the cell is fully charged before you do this! If the specific gravity is too high (over 1.300), the acid will attack the plate supporting structure and destroy it.
