Exactly John.

The Schuko -socket is enough but it was voted among vehicle manufacturers
that the for example Defa-products are lethal.

The death rate is astonishing to use these Schuko-sockets out doors. The
statistics speaks it out: over 15.000.000.000 disconnect/connect actions
during the past 10 years and no reported death cases. In Finland not even
any reported accidents.

So this is why it was reasonable to try to prevent Finland, Sweden and
Norway to use these out side the houses. Anyone should buy the socket
series for EV charging. Starting only at 300€ (rated for 120-200
disconnect-connect actions). Feasible cost for safety to buy 300€ sockets
every year.

Sorry. Being sarcastic again.. :P

Fact is that the Schuko socket is rated only for few hours for that +3kW.
You need to trim down the charger a bit to say 2500W if you wish to charge
overnight (+10 hours). The connections in the female receptacle will get
loose and the plastic on the male socket tends to stick to the pins when
they are hot. Repeated heating and cooling wears it off. Making it a fire
hazard. Unless you change the socket every 2 years. But that's 15€ in parts
and available at every mart. Sounds business killer to automotive people.

I've been happy Schuko EV user since 2001. :)
