Now I remember reading that the Chinese buyers were connected in some way with Zap USA. As longtime EVDL members will recall, Zap's history with EVs is ... checkered. The Autoblog link you provided seems to be saying that the American side doesn't have the same connections, but the whole situation smells funny to me. The comments also make it clear that what this company has rights to is not the lean early prototypes but rather the late, bloated version they entered in the X Prize competition. That doesn't interest me very much. It breaks my heart to see good EV ideas sink. I should be used to it by now though; in 4 and a half decades of following EVs, that's most of what I've seen.
