The title of the newswire infers that women are not keen on plugins. The writer seems to base that on how many females buy plugins. Yet they did not weight the purchases with their purchasing power. Females are 'still' not paid as much as males for the same 'actual' work performed http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/30/payscale-study-women_n_3360863.html So if I were to assume that there are 29% less females with the purchasing income to buy a Tesla, or 10% less could buy a $30k plugin, that would change those figures to show that both males and females share the similar purchasing decisions. Meaning there are other unstated factors that are involved with the plugin purchasing decision, not just along gender lines. In my lifetime, I have had my share of females tell me directly "What do you know!?! You are just a man! ...", which is funny/odd, as I have always tried to be fair minded. That said, it amazes me how writers of these newswires can spew their opinions, and makes me wish I could have those females straighten these writers out. Many know, I have been doing this plugin newswire posting for a long time (since the 1990's). I remember reading several pieces pumped out onto the printed media (pre-Internet days) by the Oil and Automakers of how only women would want plugins (again inferring something, perhaps that there would be something wrong with any male plugin driver, or that the driver would be advertising that they are not that much of man, etc.) I did a search to try to find some, but they did not come up. This is not that surprising as after 1990, the Internet seemed to have a lot of its sites/pages wiped/white-washed/cleaned to keep-up businesses' reputation. I did however find a couple items that were interesting, that point out how little males really know of what females will want/do: http://www.mygreenwheels.com/what-women-want/ ...
