You could be a rebel and do no BMS. Jack Rickard at http://evtv.me  bottom 
balances his cells and then runs no BMS. He says he has driven until the car 
refused to move without apparent damage (though he admits there could be less 
long term cycle life). BTW Jack argues the low end is more important, as you 
might suddenly pull a cell too low whilst pulling 100's of Amps, ruining it in 
seconds. Charging is at 10's of Amps so is less likely to do damage suddenly. I 
know many here disagree with Jack.
