Hello Peter, I am using a Maxi-Jet 1200 pump by Marineland as recommended by Café Electric for my Z1K motor controller. This pump now has been running since 2002 continuous with no problem. It can be use as a submersible pump or as a in line pump. It has a 3/4 inch inlet and a 3/8 inch outlet.
I have the 3/4 inch inlet direct hose connected to a remote fill tank that is use for radiators lower than the engine of a vehicle. The remote tank is mounted up higher than what you are cooling. I have my remote tank at the same level as the Z1K controller. These are a 120 vac pump where I plug it into my 5kw inverter which is also use for electric hot water heating with 120 vac return pumps. You could use a 100-500 watt inverter which will work for this pump. Back then this pump cost me $44.00. Another source for 12 vdc cooling pumps that are now being use in many vehicles is from Jegs.com. The one I use in my classis 1975 Chevelle is a electric inline made by Meziere, single outlet, 12 volt motor, Item # 680-WP136S. Roland ----- Original Message ----- From: Peter C. Hi Folks, I'm having a rough time finding a good water pump that can cool my motor and controller. Most of the 12v water pumps out there are not rated for continuous use (e.g. more than 5 to 10 minutes). Those that are rated for continuous use are typically not self-priming. Any thoughts on this? Cheers, Peter _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub<http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub> http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org<http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org> For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA<http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA>) -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
