Mercedes Benz petrol engines use an electric pump to circular coolant through 
the cabin heater. (I've had  them in W124 and W126 chassis) They run at 
variable speed on a 100% duty cycle. By observation they do this for twenty 
years. Readily available from euro dismantlers.
