Agreed, although charge stations are obviously connected to a wired
infrastructure. To avoid phone lines, however, it would be trivial to
use a GSM (cell) connection. Credit card data security is well defined
and also relatively easily managed. That said, either solution would be
preferable to the one-offs that these vendors seem to be struggling with.
