Not really. A 12 volt DC pump I have draws 5.8 ampere at a 6 foot head. This AC pump is about the same wattage for a 6 foot head.
Also this is why I do not use the 12 volt contactors coils in my EV. The 12 volt coils running ampere is about 5 ampere. Change the coils to a Line Voltage type that can run off the battery pack voltage of 165 to 240 vdc at 0.4 ampere. The surge of the ampere of these coils at 12 volts will cause the ampere to raise above 5 amps which took out the Z1K main coil drivers even with the surge protector that was supply. The large open Cable Form contactors are design to hold the contacts close until the voltage drops to 11.5 volts on 180 volt battery pack. They will come back on after the voltage increases to 165 volts is where my motor controller is set for a low voltage cutoff. That's 60 watts just for the circulation pump, so about 3% of the energy the heater uses is for circulating the coolant. Is it just me, or does that seem like a lot?
