EVLN: Tesla-S Fire on I-24 south of Nashville, TN
]

Some will notice that I did not post this to member's intray, but to the
archive instead.
IMO If these fires were one off, rare EVents, then like I did with the
first ones, I would post them to member's intrays. Now, it is getting
odd as they are happening too often.

That news piece's headline states 3rd in 5 weeks. IMO, actually if you
exclude the drunk, it would be 2nd in 5 weeks with a similar symptom.
The piece states: ' The car detected a problem, instructing the driver
to pull off the road after which the car caught on fire.' We'll have to
wait for what actually cause this 2nd fire, but it might be the same
impact while driving at highway speeds scenario.

If we think about this, these bad-PR for Tesla EVs is bad for all
plugins. And it is happening just a little too often for my liking.
Can there be road debris just waiting for a Tesla to impact? I hesitate
going off the deep end with an automaker conspiracy of them arranging a
hit-man to make it look bad for EVs.

But it makes me wonder what is going on. It is almost like GM knows the
Tesla-S has a soft underbelly, not unlike the original Humvees sent over
to fight in the war, where insurgents found an IUD would go right though
it soft underside.

I remember posting my experience when driving the company ice as a hp CE
during a customer repair call. Where a tow truck hook had been kicked up
into the underside of the company ice puncturing it like a beer can (the
tip of the hook was a inch short of going through the seat and up my
bum).

So, yes 'stuff-happens' when driving at highway speeds, but with so few
Tesla-S on the road in comparison to the number of ice on the road,
there is something just plain wrong (something smells bad about this).
