Hi Folk's,
I wish there were lithium batteries with balancers or self balancing to get rid
of all he pesky balancers. One of mine 3.6V opened and then the 130ah CALB
cell go up to 4.0V which shut off the charger and you could see number 26 on
the battery scanner of course circuit: www.evdl.org/lib/mh but it sure would be
a *lot* simpler if there were self balancing lithiums to alleviate all the
attracted complexity. I found that a drop of water got on the PC board & sat
causing an electrolysis trace disconnect. The boards were conformal coated but
still got across a couple points.
It also seams that in the winter (<32 degrees) like lead batteries, the
internal impedance is higher, more V sag on the highway thus more ah used to go
the same distance and the charger taking longer. is there a good LiFePO4
data/info sheet like lead batteries that has *all* the lithium battery
characteristics?
I wonder how the "big boys" do it, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc, do they have a bunch
of pesky cell balancers?
