BMW wants to separate it's ICE cars from it's EVs during the initial presentation; they want to draw a line between the two so as not to interrupt their sports car image. BMW's EV is still an experiment because it is made in two parts; the aluminum chassis/drive line unit and the carbon fiber passenger module. Want to change the looks? Simple, change the passenger module and you can even make it look like a Model S.
Tesla doesn't have this problem because they are not an old established ICE car maker. -- View this message in context: http://electric-vehicle-discussion-list.413529.n4.nabble.com/EVLN-Tesla-declared-the-BMW-i3-is-an-IKEA-Furniture-Car-tp4666688p4666700.html Sent from the Electric Vehicle Discussion List mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ UNSUBSCRIBE: http://www.evdl.org/help/index.html#usub http://lists.evdl.org/listinfo.cgi/ev-evdl.org For EV drag racing discussion, please use NEDRA (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NEDRA)
