Really, you can't like EV's and even advocate for them without spitting and
sputtering and detesting the fuel that has created the industrial world, (for
good and bad) that we have today. Give me a break. I love EVs as much as
anyone, but when it comes time to take an 800 mile road trip with my family
(something that is not that unusual here in the US where we have room to roam)
I hop in my 8 seat 20mpg SUV and enjoy the comfort and the ride and the
convenience of a quick fillup every 300 - 400 miles. I don't believe there
will ever be an EV that can match what my SUV gives me in those situations.Just
remember that the original gas powered automobiles were heralded as great
environmental improvements as they eliminated the piles of horse manure off the
streets. It was only many years and 100s of millions of vehicles later that
the true environmental costs began to come to light. I can't imagine that EVs
in the same numbers as petrol powered cars would not pose some serio
us unforeseen environmental consequences of their own.
