Yes, I can understand the conflict here! In its day this was one of the
finest examples of real muscle with lean style lines. My family had a
doctor friend who used to take me and my brother on various outings. It was
a special treat when he would break out the Pantera (at the time the car
was maybe 3 years old), and "let it breathe a little".
The closest that I ever got to owning one was when I bought a '75 Bricklin
(Canada's version of the Pantera, also with the 351 Ford motor and manual
transmission) in the early 90's. Fun car!
And yet, I can just imagine how this would handle with an 11" motor and
lithiums!
Would modifying a Pantera destroy its collector value, or enhance it? This
same question has been grappled with a few years ago when the idea of
converting the DeLorean to electric a few years back. Turns out that it too
has become a collectors item in its own right, even heard talk of starting
up a new production of the electric version!
