Reminds me of the Flybo that was imported for a while and sold (IIRC) on 
Ebay.  It was visually almost a Smart clone.

Sold for $10k, which struck me as a bit much for what it was - 48v, 25mph 
top speed, reportedly very cheaply made.

I think Mercedes sued them over that similarity, and in fact the Flybo I 
found at flybo.cn just now indeed looks considerably different.

This newer version has a 5kw, 72v DC motor.  Lead battery, claimed 150ah.  
Top speed 60 km/h (37mph). Claimed range 220km (ha!  maybe at walking 
speed).

Or this one, with a 96v 10kw AC motor and a 5 speed manual front transaxle 
(looks like an ICEV conversion to me).  Top speed 90 km/h, range 160km 
(again seems fanciful).
