About a month ago there was a brief discussion on our list regarding
mobility vehicles. Bruce was looking for one to use for visits to the VA
hospital, David sent a link to TravelScoot http://www.travelscoot.com/ and
gave it a nice recommendation. Then Willie sent a message saying he had one
he would like to find a home for and I contacted him to inquire about buying
it. Instead of selling it, he gave it to me, which was a totally unexpected
surprise and most appreciated. It is a quite remarkable little EV, light
enough that I am able to move it around and sturdy enough to navigate the
horribly bumpy sidewalks and bike paths in my neighborhood.
I looked at the Suitcase EV and while it may be a bit faster than my
TravelScoot it is ugly, appears less comfortable, and why would anyone want
a suitcase with them every time they want to use their scooter? It would
not be practical to try to wear a skirt sitting on a suitcase, although I
know a lot of the list members wouldn't want to anyway. The TravelScoot
came folded in a bag which most people could carry on trips and it sets up
quickly and easily when unpacked. Videos show people hauling large items on
the V-shaped frame, dragging luggage behind them, using baskets and a
trailer for additional space. I am anxious for fall to arrive so Las Vegas
temperatures will again be comfortable and I can continue testing the TS
range and hauling capabilities. So far I have made one shopping trip to a
nearby market and was able to carry a bag of veggies on the canvas pouch
attached with Velcro on the base, doubt that the Suitcase would have worked
for that.
Thank you Willie. Your TravelScoot has a home where it will be used a lot
and enjoyed.

If he can pack his clothes in that bag and drive it to the airport, he'll
have something. Otherwise, it's just a gimmick, and not a very
comfortable
looking ride at that.
As for me, I'm still waiting for George Jetson's air-car-in-a-briefcase -
electric, of course. ;-)
