A friend said they got a Solar City Quote for $8k for a 6 kW system here in
Maryland. That’s under $1.50 a watt installed!

That is a one-time fully pre-paid upfront lease. Pay it once and free
electricity for the next 20 years. The homeonwer can buy out the array any
time from now till then for under $4k now and it tapers down over time.

Note, this is about HALF what an outright purchase would cost up front ($3
a watt) of which the homeowner who purchases it would get HALF of that
back in Federal, stte, and local tax credits immediately. SO it really is
a wash between outright purchase and fully-prepaid lease, but with the
lease, you don’t have to do any of the paper work, and Solar City maintains
the system guaranteed for 20 years.

This is amazing. (considering the panels cost $0.85 a watt.)

Charge your EV from solar. Instant come-back to carbon deniers who love to
point at coal-stack electricity to justify their EV hatred.
