On the program - Outrageous Act of Science - there is a engineer that built a EV using only a motor that is power by a alternator connected to a flywheel that is human power through a step up gear system.
One battery is use to excite the alternator. The person or a group of persons uses the same mechanisms that is use in speed boat racing using oars and a sliding seat. Instead of oars, a steering wheel is use and the feet pushes the seat back and forth to run the gears which rotates the flywheel and then the alternator getting your exercise at the same time. If the alternator is a HD one design for charging deep cycle battery from 13.5 to 16 volts and at the same time can put out 110 vdc up to 7kw like the one I use in by EV to charge a deep cycle battery and provide all the 12 volt system in the EV and at the same time provides 110 vdc which is inverted to 120 vac 60 hz for my electric heat. This EV can get up 60 mph and does good hill climbing too. Could use as a back up for your standard EV. Roland -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
