Hi Mike and All,
He says new surplus stock for the Leaf batteries at least and he has
inside connections. Not hiding anything I've seen to actual buyers.
His ebay ads give other details, just google Leaf battery modules ebay and
his, others pop up. He's under 1eyedcruiser there.
Unused Leaf batteries are working very well for those doing them as I
haven't heard of any problems if the charge/discharge is done right. But I
wouldn't warranty Li batts to the public as way too easy to screw them up not
done right. So doesn't seem much risk.
And the not production EV other marginal ones available cost 2x's more
is a much higher risk..
Again he gets 99% satisfaction rate on delivering the ebay goods so
that doesn't seem to be a problem.
Anyone that has bought his batteries please let us know how it, they
worked
 out?
I'll be getting mine in a few weeks and will let you all know how it
works out with them though it'll take me some time to sort the charging, wthr
meter, Battbridge, etc to make sure they stay alive and see how much they
actually put out.
Just 6kwhrs is 2 months income for me so can't afford to blow them.

                                                   Jerry Dycus

I agree that it isn't polite to ask as specifically as "Who do you buy these
from?"

However, it is only common sense to ask enough questions to determine the
previous history:

New?
Used? If so, how much?
Wrecked? If so, what kind of damage was done to the vehicle?

I think it is perfectly appropriate to ask questions expecting depth of answers
such as:

These were removed from new cars totalled by body damage during delivery.
These are new surplus stock.
These are from wrecking yards.

At least you know where you stand. Of course, the vendor can answer, or not,
as they want. Consumers can then choose whether to purchase.

Some of the lack of answers can also be mitigated by a warranty, but that
depends on the reputation and longevity of the business giving the warranty.
