Posting for Andrew Miles, son of our longtime friend Dennis Miles: It is with a heavy heart that today I announce the passing of Dennis L. Miles. Many people in the Electric Vehicle world knew him by his moniker "EV Professor." He was laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery.
Dennis served in the USAF from 1968-1973. He worked on Phantom 2s, but he worked on other planes as well, as a Electronic Warfare Tech. He taught for 20+ years at Pinellas Technical Education Center, a tech school in Florida, USA. He taught computer repair, VCR repair, microwave systems, electric motors, and more, to high school students and adults. Dennis was always interested in EVs and other Alternative Fuel Vehicles. He filed letters of incorporation for the Electric Vehicle Technical Institute Inc. in 2009. He started answering people's questions on Yahoo Answers, in regards to the more technical questions. Dennis made a few friends along the way and was invited to join the Electric Vehicle Discussion List later. He would spend hours reading and writing responses to EVDL posts, LinkedIn posts and such. As his son, after graduating college, I became more involved in the adventure of getting EVTI off the ground. I have now taken up this quest for my own.
