[video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uueC1hHYqzs Introducing Apple Car 'Leaked Ad' AJ+ Feb 23, 2015 The Silicon Valley rumor mill is in overdrive that Apple is acquiring top talent from Tesla in order to make a car of their very own. AJ+'s Dan Ilic put on his best Sir Jony Ive thinking cap to imagine just what a potential Apple Car might look like. ] Sapphire crystal windshield that’s 1000x stronger than glass? Immersive retina-technology in place of windows? Siri controlled driving? That may very well be what an ‘Apple Car’ would look like if digital media agency AJ+ had its way. With all of the hype surrounding Apple’s much rumored entry into the automotive space, the folks at AJ+ decided to poke a little fun at the tech giant’s notorious product launch video by creating a parody of the ‘Apple Car’. “Apple Car can be personalized with a range of apologetic silicon covers that elegantly snap on,” says AJ+’s Dan Ilic who dons his best impersonation of Apple’s Sir Jony Ive. Sitting in stark surroundings against a white background, Ilic explains how Apple Car is fully electric and capable of driving 24 minutes on a single charge while channeling every ounce of Jony Ive. All kidding aside, Apple certainly isn’t a company to be scoffed at when it comes to innovation and breaking down barriers. We’ll be taking a look in an upcoming story on why it would make sense for the tech behemoth to actually try for a car. But until then, I’ll be rejoicing in the details of the AJ+ ‘Apple Car’. Simply brilliant. Simply hilarious. [© teslarati.com] http://cleantechnica.com/2015/02/28/apple-icar-parody-video-funny-meh/ Apple iCar Parody Video — Funny or Meh? February 28th, 2015 by Zachary Shahan I’ve been sitting on this story for a few days, partly because I’ve been super busy (what’s new?) and partly because I’m not fully sure what my take on it is. The idea of an Apple electric car is quite tantalizing. Hence the reason I wrote a long article about it, and the reason Chris and I discussed the topic on our first Cleantech Talk podcast. It’s tantalizing for me because 1) Apple has a ton of money and both software and hardware expertise that could lead to an awesome product, 2) I’m an Apple convert who thinks they make some of the best tech products around, and who now can’t believe I spent years messing with fundamentally broken PCs. Making fun of Apple and Apple fans is quite common, and I was convinced for years that its products were overpriced. However, once making the switch, I can only recommend them. The parody below is sort of funny, but it also tries to be funny by reinforcing myths that are just old and boring at this point, about Apple as well as about electric cars. The range joke, for example, really let me down (and it even had the ignorance of calling an electric car’s motor an engine). But parts of the video did crack me up.
