I just lashed one up but haven't much tested or done a permanent install. But, it seems to work as advertised. My applications are 36v golf carts (with ebike batteries). The lash up used a 12v battery to power the device; I have some DC-DCs on order. I found the instructions obscure but I think I have it working as needed. Seems like a great value. Just as John says, a fuel gauge if you have a good idea of your battery capacity. I've used TBS meters the same way for years. The TBS is around $200 as I recall.
