Yes it pushes straight forward, the Wheezy is on a "Z" shaped arm to clear the
rear wheel in turns, the propelled wheel is actually in line with the rear tire
of the bike and thus it is pushing the bike in a straight line, because
the force that the Wheezy puts on the bike's attachment point
(forward and to the left) mostly compensates the torque that the arm tries to
effect on the bike with a component that would steer the bike
to the right, if not for the fact that the Wheezy pushes the arm slightly to
the left, resulting in mostly forward force remaining.
Note that the behavior of the Wheezy might be different whan making a turn, but
the natural response for any biker making a turn is to stop accelerating before
making a turn, however if you get on the throttle fast before coming out of a
turn there may be an unexpected swing-out...

Would a bike still go in a straight line with that gadget pushing on one side
only? Besides, ewww, what an ugly, gangling, awkward gadget. It also looks
kind of heavy.
